Hello! My name is Ally. I am very excited to start working side-by-side with you. Our time together can be as long or as short as you need it to be. I will be a non-judgmental teammate during your wellness journey, and I am open to working with any concerns you may have. I believe that you have all the strength you need to overcome your struggles, and I can help bring that strength out of you. My counseling philosophy includes practicing mindful cognitive behavioral therapy, and I will be flexible with my philosophy to meet your needs. This includes involving techniques from DBT, Reality Therapy, and (but not limited to) person-centered counseling.
I am a licensed professional counselor, and I am currently in my third year at Kent State University working on my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. I have a passion for clinical work. The concerns I have worked with so far are grief, substance use, anxiety, depression, self-confidence work, and issues with interpersonal relationships (ranging from families to friendships, to romantic partners). Therapy is not a cure-all, but it can certainly help to change your mindset so you can gain the motivation to take on your challenges with confidence. In my free time, I love hiking, camping, spending time with family and friends, and spending time with my sassy cat, Patty. I look forward to working with you soon!
