Biography
Howdy, my name is Christin! My counseling approach revolves around creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere, where you’re not just a client but a valued individual with a unique story. During my impactful work with the diverse student population at Kent State at Stark, I honed my skills in creating inclusive and affirming spaces for individuals often marginalized within traditional counseling settings. From supporting non-traditional students to fostering connections with people of different backgrounds, including communities of color, LGBTQ+, veterans, and the neurodiverse, I have consistently strived to dismantle barriers to clinical progress. Whether navigating identity complexities, expressing oneself in different environments, or seeking a safe space for self-reflection, I’m here to support you.
I am a first-generation college graduate from The Ohio State University and later at Malone University, where I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. These contrasting experiences have shaped my ability to connect with others authentically and provide a safe space for self-reflection, personal accountability, and value clarification. Having weathered the challenges of expressing my identity in both liberal and conservative educational settings, I have developed a keen sensitivity to the diverse needs of individuals seeking counseling. I am committed to fostering an environment where clients can explore their voices, challenge preconceived notions, and embark on a journey of self-discovery. Let’s connect and explore how we can navigate your unique journey. Your transformation starts here!
