Biography

Hello! My name is Esperanza Smith. I have worked with clients experiencing concerns such as depression, anxiety, sexual orientation and identity, discovery of identity, relationships, confidence, and self-compassion. I like to utilize Person Centered ideals when approaching therapy while also using evidence-based treatment interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe that a collaborative approach in therapy not only gives clients a sense of autonomy in the changes they would like to make in their lives, but it also allows clients to engage in a safe space, building trust within the therapeutic relationship. I hope to create a safe environment free from judgment, with an abundance of trust, and room for growth and change.

I have always known I belonged in a helping profession, and once I was introduced to the idea of becoming a mental health professional, I knew it was what I was going to pursue. I enjoy helping clients reach their goals and walking alongside them on their journey. I am extremely grateful to be in the position to facilitate growth and change. I look forward to working with you!
