Biography

Hello! My name is Dustin Smith (He/Him), and I’m a licensed social worker with several years of clinical experience supporting individuals on their mental health journey. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Akron and have experience working in a variety of diverse settings.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults (ages 15 and up) who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and other personal challenges. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful and research-supported approach to treating trauma. I chose to pursue EMDR training because I’ve seen how deeply unresolved trauma can affect every area of a person’s life and how transformative EMDR can be in helping clients process painful memories, reduce emotional distress, and regain a sense of control and peace. In addition to EMDR, I incorporate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing to create a well-rounded, individualized approach for each client.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered with a healthy dose of humor and creativity. I strive to make the therapy process not only effective but also relatable and engaging. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, seen, and supported, and it’s my privilege to walk alongside clients as they move toward growth, resilience, and greater emotional well-being.
